Emily struggles with letting go of people throughout her life, and the ending reveals the extreme length she went to in order to keep Homer with her. Why do you think some people have such a difficult time accepting loss or change? Connect Emily’s actions to your own observations or experiences with people struggling to let go.

Prompt Response: Psychologically people always have a hard time letting go of things. Struggling usually comes from a loss of certain things. Such as fear of isolation, fear in time, and control of helplessness. Emily over here is literally hoarding a corpse. That is her with her feelings of not being able to let go. She's also not accepting the towns modernization and deliveries/taxes.

Summary: Today in class, we used writeable to answer questions while we read the story.

Reflection: I learned how we should use certain words and sentences when discussing. As well as when we are writing down our answers.
