Prompt: In the beginning of “The Life You Save May Be Your Own,” Mrs. Crater and Mr. Shiflet meet for the first time and begin forming opinions about one another based on what they see, hear, and assume. Neither character truly knows the other yet, which raises an important question about first impressions.

Prompt Response: Yes, I have had a first impression of someone that ended up being wrong. I thought they were mean because they didnt talk much. But after I got to know them I realized they were actually nice. My first impression was mostly because of how they acted when I first met them. So far I think Mr. Shiflet seems kinda serious and weird. The way he talks and acts makes me think there is more to him than what he shows.

Summary: Today in class we started reading the book A Worn Path.

Reflection: I learned that we can use grammar and diction in multiple different. I also got to learn more about people’s character development.
